Bluetooth configuration Ubuntu Feisty

If you want to transfer images from your mobile phone or other bluetooth devices to your Ubuntu box, follow this simple instructions and enjoy (only italian)

Main steps of procedure:

  1. Install the following packages:
    $ sudo apt-get install bluez-utils bluez-pin bluez-gnome gnome-bluetooth nautilus-sendto
  2. Go to Sistem > Preferences > Sessions and add this command at startup (simply press the Add button and fill the command field with gnome-obex-server.
  3. Close session and login.
  4. You should see a baloon like this:

  5. If the baloon is like this follow the rest of the guide.

  6. If you to transfer an image (for example) from your mobile phone to the pc, send it via bluetooth and you’ll get probably a message like this:

  7. If you want instead to send a file or image from your pc to your mobile phone just click the Send to… menu by clicking withe the right button of the mouse on the file you want to send and select then the bluetooth destination device.
